the student work program —

Main Street is the classroom.

Our local businesses already know how to do the work. Our students want to learn it. We make the match and stick around for the whole thing.

For students

  1. 01Tell us what you're into.Welding, animals, computers, cooking, no clue yet. All good answers.
  2. 02We find the match.A local business that does the thing, with a person who wants to teach it.
  3. 03Show up and learn.Shadow, then do. A mentor checks in along the way, and you walk away with real experience and a reference.

For parents

  1. 01You're in the loop.We talk with you before any match, and you approve the placement.
  2. 02Safe, local, known.Placements are with local businesses we know, and we walk every host through age and safety rules.
  3. 03Real check-ins.A HeartRoots mentor checks in with your student and with you the whole way.

For businesses

  1. 01Raise your hand.Tell us what your business does and what a student could learn there.
  2. 02We do the matching. We find a student who fits and handle the check-ins. You teach the work.
  3. 03Grow your own.Train the next generation of workers right here, instead of watching them leave town.

Ready to host? Raise your hand below.

We don't fix people.
We walk with them.

Nobody needs another lecture. They need someone who's been there, who'll answer the phone, and who won't disappear when it gets hard.

Show up.

Same time, same place, every time. Consistency is the whole gift.

Listen first.

Advice lands better once someone feels heard. We ask before we tell.

Stay.

Bad weeks happen. Mentors don't quit on people, and people don't get kicked out for struggling.

Every mentor who works with kids or teens completes a background check and meets in public or supervised settings. Safety first, always.

foundations —

Nobody builds a future alone.

Today you might need a mentor. Someday you'll be one. That's how roots spread.

Faith-rooted. Open to every neighbor. Help is never conditioned on belief.

Hi neighbor! 👋 Got a question? I've got roots in all the answers.
